Youth Power Germany has officially opened their office in Berlin on November 20, 2019. The goal of the organization is to support minors without parental care in the centers they have opened, and to work on many more projects that they have planned to start implementing next year.

At the very beginning of the ceremony, the introductory word was given by the CEO of all Youth Power organizations, Armin Čerkez, who introduced the attendees about  functioning of the Youth Power Network, where each Youth Power organization has its own office and projects that they implement. During his introductory word, Čerkez mentioned the relocation of the head office from Mostar to Berlin, and the reason was they didn’t have enough local support.

“I am very glad that we finally opened an office here because I believe that our work was not supported enough by the City of Mostar and local institutions in Mostar. I believe that our work and effort here will be recognized and supported by local communities and I believe that together we will do many useful things for society and the environment here, ”Armin said.

The organization at the very beginning has plans to help young people by providing them with two types of startup services. One of these is the accommodation service in three two-bedroom apartments for two persons, per apartment, aged 16-21 years and a more intensive support service for persons between 15-17 years of age with the daily presence of a social worker. The intensity of support depends on the need of the younger person and an individual support plan will be created for each person. Support will systematically be monitored and a meeting will be held every 6 months with a young person, educators and the Youth Support Center of the City of Berlin, and a future support plan will be developed based on the interview.

Beside centres, Youth Power Germany has plans to offer young people various training courses next year where young people will have opportunity to go through non-formal education where they will  be able to create jobs for themselves and to be able to use the funds offered by the European Union for entrepreneurship. YP also has aim to send young people to various internships, exchanges and educational workshops where they can further improve themselves personally.
