On the occasion of the World Mental Health Day Youth Power organized a campaign “Are you OK” on October 13 in high schools of HNK / HNŽ canton with the aim of encouraging young people to talk about mental health.
Due to the current situation, the activities could not be performed directly in the schools, so we decided to support our partner high schools by donating disinfectants. Disinfectants were provided as part of the campaign and were placed in school hallways next to posters with many messages. The messages were aimed to encourage young people to ask themselves “Are they OK?” and seek professional help if they need it. All posters, stickers and stickers aim to encourage young people to talk to each other, to their peers, and to help each other when they see the need.
World Mental Health Day, October 10, is celebrated every year to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining mental health and to make additional efforts to promote it.
The activity was realized within the project Young Men Initiative II (YMI): “Promoting healthier lifestyles among young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina by challenging gender stereotypes II”, which is supported by the Government of Switzerland, OAK Foundation, Austrian Development Agency and CARE International Bosnia and Herzegovina.
