On Valentine’s day volunteers of the NGO Youth Power were sharing love and photos to the citizens on the streets of Mostar. The street action called “Photos of Love” attracted many curious people. The members of the “Be Man Club” wanted to send a message to the citizens that love should unite us regardless of our differences.

The street action started in the early morning hours in front of the Mepas Mall. Citizens had the opportunity to take pictures with volunteers with a big glowing heart. “Nothing shines brighter than true love” is the common message of the volunteers. They used a couple of extra props to make the photos more fun. Each of the passers-by got their own photo and with that gift we attracted many smiles. The street action lasted a couple of hours and was successfully completed due to heavy rain which failed to spoil the mood of volunteers and citizens.

The NGO Youth Power regularly celebrates Valentine’s Day with various street and online campaigns. This day carries a special message and meaning and we always try to remind people that we should love each other regardless of our differences.

The activity was implemented within the project Young Men Initiative III (YMI): “Promoting Healthier Lifestyles and Decrease of Interpersonal Violence among Youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina by Challenging Gender Stereotypes III“, supported by the Swiss Government, Oak Foundation, Austrian Development Agency and CARE International Bosnia and Herzegovina
