The International Training “Fight against homophobia and harassment among youth” was held in Novi Sad, Serbia, during the period from 6th April to 15th April 2018. The training was attended by 24 activists from Germany, Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Partners in this project: the NGO Youth Power from Mostar, the Association Ostvarenje from Zagreb, the Regional Info Center and the Outreach group from Hanover.
For ten days of training, the topics of violence and nonviolent conflict development, gender roles in society, fear, prejudice and stereotypes were dealt with. In addition to everyday interactive workshops, a short film “When i get out … be here” is shown, after which there was an open discussion about coming out and supporting LGBT people when it comes to coming out. The aim of the training was to train youth activists how to work with young people on LGBT people’s rights through interactive workshops, which would lead to a reduction in homophobia.
Training is funded by the Executive agency for education, audiovisual media and culture through the Erasmusm + program: Sports, youth and EU volunteers for help.
