Non-governmental organization Youth Power in cooperation with Association XY Sarajevo, Perpetuum Mobile Banja Luka and CARE International Balkans organized a five-day Sutjeska camp of leadership from 9.7 to 13.7. The fourth camp gathered 90 young people from all parts of BiH who learned about leadership in the morning hours of camp, while every afternoon was dedicated to activities and games devoted to team building.

Young people are active participants and peer educators of the project “Promotion of Healthy Lifestyles and Gender Equality” – Mladić Initiative, conducted by CARE International Balkans with local Youth Power Partners, Association XY and Perpetuum Mobile. Through the learned skills and a common gathering on the camp, young people will even better promote healthy lifestyles and gender equality among their communities and peers.

Youth Power Program Manager Nedim Mičijević said: “This year, we have traditionally held the fourth youth leadership camp for those young people who are part of the project” Promoting healthier lifestyles among youth in BiH by challenging gender stereotypes “. What makes this year’s camp different from previous camps is twice the number of camp campers out of double the number of cities we have had so far. Through the project “A Comprehensive Approach to Inclusion of Young Men and the Media in the Prevention of Violence against Women and Domestic Violence in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, funded by UN Women BiH, we had the opportunity to invite girls and young men from Livno, Travnik, East Sarajevo and Bijeljina. Through the five days of the camp, we talked with young people about what leadership represents for them, where they see themselves as a leader, how they think a leader should behave while working with youth. In addition to participatory educational workshops, the participants were part of the games and activities organized with the aim of building team spirit and communion among the participants of the camp itself. We are sure that the participants, as in previous years, will bring a lot of beautiful memories and new friendships from this camp. “
