Non-governmental organization Youth Power invites all art lovers to the performance of visual conceptual art “When I Crossed the Garden” in Mostar, Herceg Stjepan Kosača, 20 October 2018 at 20:00. By organizing this performance, the city of Mostar, together with the county, and other art lovers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, will receive a performance that is of high artistic value in European cultural cities.
The performance will be held in the framework of the “Methods of using conceptual art in youth work” which is currently held in the city of Mostar. There are choreographers from Greece, Germany and Brazil. In cooperation with the artists, Youth Power has the desire and the goal to organize a unique concert of conceptual visual art.
The dance theater performance, “When I crossed the garden”, is based on the concept of “love ties” and presents a powerful tool that allows people to cross the written boundaries of the relations of forbidden love. The boundaries that are verbally and through narratives prescribed by culture, region and religion. All artists come from different countries, an art piece speaks of their way of adopting and integrating the unlawful love from their angle of view.
Using the body language of art, “When I cross the garden” gives importance to human diversity, but at the same time emphasizes the strength of this difference, how all people are different but also the same, and just using this diversity gives us the strength to be together.
“When I crossed the garden” aims to stimulate the question and perception of viewers as they behave and cope with foreign “elements” that come unknowingly into their personal “garden”.
