For the last 10 days, Youth Power members have been part of “Youth sport work for reconciliation and acceptance of diversity” training course that took place in Quito, Ecuador from 4th to 12th November. Training course targeted youth trainers and youth workers already experienced and educated in general NFE principles and methodology, willing to explore and extract all the possible positive aspects of sports for developing consistent positive intercultural acceptance among our beneficiaries. Training course was organized by Association “Kiart” from Ecuador and involved youth workers from Ecuador, Colombia, Sweden, Germany and Croatia
During the first two days, we got introduced to the local community and culture. We shared realities with the situations about reconciliation and intercultural dialogue in our countries and got a chance to visit local organizations working on topic of intercultural learning. During workshops and activities, we discussed topics of youth trainings for intercultural learning , explored mental and physical development of individual through sports, and experienced importance of teamwork through practicing extreme sports
Last three days we used to exchange traditional sport games from our countries, discuss and explore obstacles and challaneges when implementing youth sport work activities for acceptence and inclusion, and to use everything we learned and exoerienced in previous days in order to adapt existing sport methods we use with young people in our local communities. Training course was concluded with Youthpass ceremony and plans for future activities.
