Summary:

Youth Power is organisation responsible to design and implement two BOLD (BiH Omladinski Lideri, Bosnia and Herzegovina Young Leaders) Civic Engagement Workshops for BiH Youth Leaders. The goal of these workshops is to create opportunities for active participation and civic engagement of young BiH leaders in their communities through skill development; with special emphasis on the development and implementation of their own projects to address a particular need in the community.

The workshops will provide a broad foundation of skills needed to succeed in the civil society sector such as the fundamentals of project management, innovative civic engagement project design, project-based collaboration, leveraging assets within the BOLD network to ensure project success, strategies to overcome apathy and skepticism, and how to work with other like-minded individuals or groups to lead the broader community toward positive change.

Main activities of the project are focused on the 2 identical educational paths.

One educational path consists of one on- line preparatory classes, core activity which is face-to-face workshop (to held in Mostar) and one online follow-up activities. Preparatory and follow-up activities will be held on a platform developed specifically for this project. Preparatory activity is designed in order to make an introduction to the workshop as it will give participants information about this project and what they can expect to learn on it. On prep activity participants will learn what is a project, what are characteristics of a project, a project life cycle and they will be introduced to needs analyses, essential when starting and developing any project idea. As a requirement to participate in face-to-face workshop participants will need to prepare Needs analysis of the local problems which participants want to impact (focusing on these topics: Civil rights and protection; Public health; Education; Ethics; Leadership; Media).

Through project implementation, we expect to improve knowledge and skills of 80 young leaders across Bosnia and Herzegovina in areas of: local community needs assessment and development of projects and initiative based on the needs of local communities, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation; thus resulting in better educated and skills equipped leaders of local communities. We also expect 80 ideas developed in the form of projects in local communities, by participants of 2 educational workshops and online preparatory sessions. These ideas are presented on an interactive map as part of an educational online platform; and at least 40 applications based on the ideas developed and finalized during the educational program.
