Summary

Through cooperation and conversations with several NGOs from our communities we noticed that the ones that are trustworthy, that have strong teams and have an impact on our communities, are actually the one with a strategic plan that they understand and stick to it.

Main aim of the project is to empower youth workers and peer educators from all partners through improving their skills and competences in the field of Strategic planning that will later lead to improved strategic vision and created strategic plan at each partner organisation, with special accent on developing and maintaining their peer-to-peer networks for development of soft skills of NEET youngsters. Working together on some previous E+ projects we discussed several times how important and empowering for the organization is to have a live and meaningful direction to decisions, in order for our daily activities have an impact on local community. All project partners are having different realities as some partners already have developed strategic plans and were using it as an important tool in their work in the past; some partners are relatively newly established, some have new staff members, youth workers and volunteers, and some have been adapting to the new needs in the community, which were not in their planning few years ago. As this project proposal was already prepared and applied on the previous deadline, it is important to mention that usual matter of environment that is constantly changing and forcing organisations to rethink and redo their Strategic plans, have been even more present due to COVID-19 pandemic. Due to different measures that governments enforced in different countries, all partner organisations and their youth work have been directly influenced in the period “between two deadlines”. Some of the partners have not been able to implement their activities in person so they had to switch their approach to using digital tools, some partners have been forced to change their target groups while some partners had to start new projects because of “new” social problems that appeared in local communities as direct consequence of COVID-19 (such as mental health awareness, youth unemployment…). From this reason, we see this as the best possible time to go over existing Strategic plans of all partners and create new ones that will be based on real needs, missions and objectives directed by existing conditions in all local communities.

Specific objectives of the project are :

1.) Introduction of Strategic planning and its importance to youth workers and peer educators

2.) Sharing practical tools of Strategic planning that will contribute to professional development of youth workers and increasing existing capacities of partners

3.) Exploring E+ programme as an opportunity to achieve objectives of Strategic planning

4.) Fostering further international cooperation between partners

5.) Sharing experiences, positive examples and practices between all partners

Project consists of two activities: training course and evaluation meeting.
