What means to be “man”  for boys in the Balkan region? Can this mean the preservation of peace rather than violence? Have fun with no drugs and alcohol?

Over the past seven years, the coalition of local, regional and international organizations promotes these positive male identities under the flagship “Youth Initiative” (YMI).
Coordinated by CARE International Balkan, implemented by partner institutions in four countries and evaluated by the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW), the YMI aims to promote a lifestyle that gives priority to good health, nonviolence and gender equality through a combination of educational workshops and community campaigns.

This synthesized report provides an overview of the justification, design and results of the program evaluation of the implementation of the Youth Initiative in secondary vocational schools.
